Gaming Ads: Titus and Backfilling #12

Titus was founded in 1985 and based in Paris, France. A big publisher and developer in Europe for both computers and consoles, the company also had offices around the world. In 1999 it made two major moves, one is it became a majority investor in Interplay and through that, as well as another investment, it acquired Virgin Interactive. It continued to raise its stake in Interplay over the next few years, eventually owning more than 72% of it. Unfortunately, Titus mismanaged Interplay and made other financial mistakes which led to filing for bankruptcy in 2004 and being liquidated in 2005.
